My Story

My name is Khalilah Moore and I’m the owner of K & K Lact and Moore. I’m a certified lactation counselor and trained holistic doula. As a holistic doula I’m a trained labor support person who will provide you and your partner with emotional, mental and physical support during and after pregnancy. My ultimate goal is to become a IBCLC and provide information to all communities when it comes to breastfeeding. I want to educate others on breastfeeding services as well as provide doula services. I support mothers individually and their support person as I believe all families should have a pleasant, educated pregnancy and labor with the correct knowledge. After working on a labor and delivery unit in a local hospital I decided to become a doula. I experienced seeing moms come in alone and scared. At the same time I saw mom come in with a support person but they both were nervous. During my times in and out of rooms I was able to show the patients some support and bring a breath of peace into the room. I will support and educate families prior to delivery so they are not as terrified when they enter their birthing space rather it’s at home, in a birthing center or hospital.
