What are the benefits of having a doula?
Decrease in risk of a cesarean and use of any medication. Decrease in client being unknowledgeable and unhappy with pregnancy, labor, and birth. Mom has more time with baby. Higher breastfeeding rates. These thing are done because a doula we make mom and their support person comfortable.
When should a doula be hired? Who uses the doula?
As early as 12 weeks of pregnancy. Any expecting mother uses a doula.
Is there more than one type of doula?
Yes, there are different types of doulas depending on what you are needing. There is a birth doula, postpartum doula and grief dola. Birth doulas are available during pregnancy until postpartum. Postpartum doula is available during postpartum only. Grief doula is available after the baby´s passing, rather its a miscarriage, stillborn or infant death.
Is there anything a doula will not do?
Doulas do not provide medical services, treatments or make medical decisions for clients.
What kind of births will K & K Lact assist with?
In person and virtual at home, birthing center and hospital births.
When should I receive lactation services?
You can start as early as during pregnancy with breastfeeding classes. Expecting mothers and support team can do breastfeeding classes individually or as a group. Lactation services are available postpartum until mom is no longer needs assistance (typically once mom is no longer providing breastmilk).
Does K & K Lact and Moore accept insurance?
Unfortunately no, however there is a payment plan option. Payments ca be made via PayPal.
